I Want to Go to There - New Hotel in Amsterdam


Stacked Houses are becoming a theme in modern architecture! Similar in concept to VitraHaus, the design of the new Inntell Hotel in Zaandam, the Netherlands appears to be comprised of iconic green wooden houses of the Zaan region piled on top of each other.

About Alexander Purcell / APRRO
Alexander Purcell graduated with an MA in Architecture from Cambridge  
University, UK and studied Product Design at Art Center College of  
Design. He spent his formative design career in architecture. Working  
at Richard Rogers and Manser Associates in London on projects  
including the Millennium Dome, the Great Eastern hotel and Sketch  
restaurant and bar. From there he moved to Los Angeles, becoming an award winning Art Director for M&C Saatchi LA. Among his clients were: The J. Paul Getty Trust, Ketel One Vodka, Qantas, The U.S Department of Commerce, Tourism Australia, City National Bank, Beverly Hills Tourism and the  
San Diego Zoo.




In 2009 he launched APRRO an interdisciplinary design studio. Purcell’s vision is to produce innovative design that pushes the boundaries of aesthetics, technology and materials; and re-defines the relationship between designer and manufacturer. APRRO debuted its first collection at the ICFF in May ’09.
The Collection has received numerous international features and awards for its launch collection.Including CH+D ‘Best new Product’ and becoming a finalist in Grand Designs awards. Following the success of APRRO’s debut, Purcell launched the sakebombstore.com in November 09. The reputation of the unique decanter inspired by the juxtoposition of a fugu fish and WWII sea mine ran wild through out the internet. The Sake Bomb was awarded ‘Fab 40 USA’ by Walpaper* magazine along with being featured in numerous other publications and blogs around the globe.

the m[E] collection is comprised of many greats known to Mid-Century Design. Ramon points to the visionary works of Gio Ponti, Paul McCobb, Andree Putman and Charles Hollis-Jones as the major inspiration for his creation of this pioneering space.Also featured at m[E] is lighting and furniture from the eco-conscious contemporary design group, FORD&CHING, as well as the visionary works from APRRO. The art gallery at m[E] shows a variety of International artist from the 16th century through the present.




m[E] is more than a showroom/gallery; it's a place where artists, aesthetes and appreciators of all kinds can congregate to share ideas and gain inspiration. Weekend Project: Summery screen

I saw this image over at Homes and Gardens gallery this weekend, and loved the idea of brightening up a room with a large screen or canvas frame covered in a bright floral fabric for summer. Crazy easy, and just lean it against a wall.

I Want to Go to There - Yunak Evleri: Cave Hotel in Cappadocia, Turkey


We've lived in some very small places. Cave-like, you could say, but never an actual cave. We would, however, consider staying a spell in these! This luxury hotel offers 30 private cave rooms that date back to the 5th and 6th centuries. We were sold on the outdoor fireplace area alone.
