Kyoto Placemats

i wish that i was one of those neat eaters who never spilled anything, but sadly most of my meals happen on my “work couch” and i always end up with something on my shirt (or the couch) by the end of the day. nothing too bad (i promise i’m not a walking spaghetti stain), but i could definitely use a placemat (or bib) every now and then. these new mats are from kat at the team at modern-twist and i love the new “kyoto” pattern by jennifer judd-mcgee on them. the surface of each mat is germ-free, non-porous, heat-resistant and perfect for adults and little-ones alike. the full fall collection from modern-twist will be in stores (and online) in september so click here to check out their current series or bookmark the page for the release.

I first came across Sally Wheat's work via La Dolce Vita blog. I'm so glad I did....! I am so enamored with her work! It has a relaxed and elegant feel to it while the kids room is FUN & full of bright colors! 

I love the fact that her use of colors & accessories makes EVERYTHING even more eye-catching! She definitely takes risks, mixing & matching items I wouldn't normally think of mixing together....I am really looking forward to seeing more of her work!

i’m sorry, it’s friday and my brain is fried so please forgive the terrible pun in this post’s title. i think the heat is starting to melt my brain and puns seem like a good idea today. to counteract the heat i’ve been watching movies and clips online of amelie, trying to imagine what life would be somewhere beautiful, cool, and with a constant dreamy breeze. so i thought i’d build a tiny roundup of things that would live on my amelie-inspired french table. even if none of these items ever live in my home, i still like to close my eyes and imagine bringing bread to the table in a market bag and then eating brioche off of one of nathalie lete’s painted plates. au revoir!
