Hollywoodland

Hollywoodland is definitely a favorite editorial spread of mine from Vogue. Karen Elson is beyond glamorous in that outfit, right? Here are some of my pins that I think fit the vibe.

Howkapow!!!

Howkapow is a colourful online shop featuring unique work from new and independent designers. Opened in December 2010 by young husband-and-wife team, Rog and Cat How, it supports and promotes emerging designers with a stand-out, smile-inducing style. And I'm slightly obsessed. This shop is fantastic.

Color Spotting - Peas, Carrots & Corn

tim walker’s vivienne westwood.
when i was a kid growing up, everything in our house was green, orange and yellow. i liked to call it ‘peas, carrots & corn’ – just like the little vegetable nibblets you’d find in a frozen tv dinner on a friday night, when you’re parents would leave you home with the babysitter. i’m seeing a lot of it all over again – major flashback time! so here you go…this week, i spy ‘peas, carrots & corn’.

Typographic Home Decor

After seeing all the great font content coming up today, I was inspired to add a few typographic touches to my own home. The best thing about type in print is that it is incredibly versatile — be it small or large scale, blocks of text, single words or single letters, it all looks great in the right context. The same goes for type design in home decor, which explains why there are almost as many great font-related design objects as there are typefaces. With that mind, I rounded up some of my favorite pieces of furniture and home accessories that incorporate type in some way. Since every typeface has a different personality, it follows that not all typographic home decor would have the same feel. So I separated the items into three different styles. Enjoy!

LOOKING FORWARD: J.CREW SPRING 2011

Forget the runways. If you want to know where color is really heading, look no further than the J.Crew Spring 2011 collection for some serious inspiration...
jcrew-spring-2011-1
The palette is retro and the shapes simple and wearable as always.
jcrew-spring-2011-2
I'm especially loving the bubblegum pinks, emerald greens, and every possible shade of denim blue. But my favorite combo might be that rich bronze with a pop of lilac. Yum.
