Turquoise is an Interior Design Firm and Furniture Design Studio located in Venice, CA.
Owner and principal designer, Vanessa De Vargas, a native to Los Angeles, got her start in Commercial and Music Video production and went on to a successful career as a talent agent.
After dedicating 10 years to the entertainment industry she chose to pursue her love for interior design and vintage furniture.
Vanessa enrolled in UCLA’s Interior Design program and joined MOTH / Shannon Shapiro Design. She spent the next two years managing the business and learning about lighting manufacturing while co-designing residences.
After her stay with Moth Design she went on to collaborate with other several prestigious Los Angeles interior designers.
During this time she began intensive study of Mid Century design. As a long time collector of mid-century furniture, she began restoring and reselling on her own pieces. Her passion for Mid-Century Modern furniture expanded to other era’s.
And the success of these efforts blossomed and led her to open Turquoise in 2004. For which, she developed a custom vintage line, which is a mixture of 1950’s - 1970’s furniture that has been given a new life.
Vanessa now has a successful interior design practice which combines her love of vintage finds with her client’s spaces.
She has continued her love of furniture and her pieces can be viewed at selected Showrooms in Los Angeles and at the Turquoise Studio.
