Plan Feng Shui Bathroom

Feng Shui Bathroom Plan. Don't you just love the sound of this word? SPA. Aaaaah. Peace. Serenity. Good feng shui. Wish I could make a good feng shui spa part of my everyday routine.

Morning jog, shower, breakfast, go to spa, take a break to deal with the "real world", and then back to the spa. That's the life! Till I get there, though, I have created quite a nice feng shui spa in my own bathroom. I feel happy when I'm in there. It's beautiful and serene. My own little feng shui spa retreat for early mornings and late nights.Feng Shui Bathroom Plan.

Living In: The Red Shoes

from Design*Sponge

The Red Shoes is a relatively new favorite of mine. I saw it for the first time two years ago at the urging of my nearest and dearest, Ginny Branch Stelling. Ginny knows what’s up when it comes to beautiful old movies so when she speaks, I listen. The Red Shoes is a 1948 British film following the rise of a young ballerina and her struggle to come to terms with her dueling passions. The dancing is phenomenal. If you’re a ballet nerd like me, you’ll be spellbound. If you’re not, get your priorities straight already.
gold bullion fringe $1.99/yd, searchlight lamp $795, paper lanterns $2.76 per set of 2, gold braided tassel $1.99, vintage 1950s tulle dress $325, hundred spires earrings $13.99, hundred spires earrings $14, triple bow flats $43, “ultimate red” lipstick $19.50, ticket roll $3, blue bracelet $23.

The Red Shoes is a stunner on every level. The colors are breathtaking, the costumes unreal, the dancing sublime- even the ending is satisfyingly twisted for such a girlish little flick.
Attention New Yorkers! The Red Shoes is playing at our beloved Film Forum through Thursday evening. I will be the one twirling in the aisles, popcorn flying every which way. -amy m.
white narcissus mirror $328, bow pins $1.50, gold atomizer $120, photographer’s lamp $295, gloria chair $850, vintage vanity case $54, daisy console $749, garden roses $5 a stem, vanity mirror $146.

REMINDER: DNG EVENT at Fifth Floor THIS THURSDAY Feb 25th at 7pm!

SAVE THE DATE our next Designer Networking Event will be held at FIFTH FLOOR on Thursday, February 25th from 7-9:30pm.

FIFTH FLOOR is located 502 Chung King Court Los Angeles, CA 90012 (Cross street Hill St.) PH 213 687 8443.

Opened in January of 2008, Fifth Floor is a hybrid art/design gallery in the heart of LA’s Chinatown. Owner, Robert Apodaca’s background in architecture sees that the space delights in a mixture of contemporary art and design. Work by varying artists, designers, and architects rotate through the exhibition areas every month to two months; all the while, a steady base of unique accessories, jewelry, furniture and design objects remain on display. Many of these hand-made objects and furniture pieces are available nowhere else besides Fifth Floor.

Fifth Floor´s
gallery shows a wide range of work from painting and mixed media to furniture and even architectural exhibits. We are interested in exploring the realms of both art and design and their multiple intersections. Often leaning heavily on tectonic and/or spatial notions we think that concept and craft should not be mutually exclusive terms. While not every exhibition is conceptually driven, these often do explore socially relevant topics such as sustainable design and community issues.

Robert Apodaca is a designer whose style focuses on simplicity of form, economy of materials and an elegant approach to problem solving. Currently living and working in Los Angeles, CA, Robert graduated from Otis College of Art and Design’s Architecture/Landscape/Interiors program in 2003. He spent several years working with various architecture and design firms, exploring what the design world had to offer. Greatly inspired by the creative possibilities that lay within the intersections of art, design, and architecture, he has taken those ideas into the heart of a number of exciting projects including Fifth Floor.

Street parking and lot parking available.

A Good Fynde

Are you familiar with Fyndes? It's an online marketplace for dealers, artists and designers. I browse the site regularly, but have yet to make a purchase. I wish I had a place for this chrome lattice headboard:

It looks like the same one in interior designer Jay Jeffers' San Francisco home:

Campers to the earth, both for water, but little camper is (or motorboats) are also suitable for both environments. By combining the utility of a boat trailer with four wheels, with parts of an air flow cross-country convention, which means this project is modest in appearance deeper than the evidence on surface.

Actually pretty boring and inherently Thansadet square proposes to democratize waterways for ordinary travelers. As you can buy (relatively) cheap or rent, it creates the selling price of possibilities to reach places normally accessible only with distance to a person with a luxury yacht or sailboat.
