OMD Showhouse

About a month ago Jordan Cappella and I combined our talents and re-decorated Jennifer Siegal's OMD Showhouse located on Abbot Kinney. Jennifer Siegal is an award winning architect located in Venice Beach. She has been published in almost every shelter publication and her prefab homes can be seen all over Venice and Santa Monica.


In the OMD Showhouse Jordan and I wanted to create a space that had a little edge to it - punk rock and glam. We wanted the space that was little different then the "usual" modern decor.


Jordan designed a custom bar made out of bronze Lucite with his signature tray top and made a coffee table by encasing a Goyer looking trunk (that I found on Ebay) in Lucite. The sofa was upholstered in patten looking vinyl and all of the artwork is by Dallas Shaw. The space is (right now) is open by appointment only. More pics can be seen here.

ADHD opening

Last night I attended Ty Pennington's new store ADHD located on Abbot Kinney. The store showcases Ty's custom furniture as well as some great gifts and home accessories.
The place is set up as different rooms with multi colored wallpaper with color coordinated sheets, furniture and pillows. The store is really a treat to see!
oh and make sure you check out Jordan's images - he had a little celebrity citing!

A few months back interior designer Kelly LaPlante of Organic Interior Design purchased some chairs from Turquoise for actor Grant Show (best known as Jake of Melrose Place). Kelly's assistant was kind enough to send over a clip from sprig.com that features the chairs.

Ikea 2008 Catalog Launch Event

I flew out to NY for the 2008 Ikea Catalog Launch Event held at the penthouse of the 450 lofts last night. The event was to preview all new products that will be seen in stores coming out this year. Remember the table lamp I posted last week, well that is actually a floor lamp as well (only comes in white and black). The Ikea team gave out new fabric (3 yrds per guest) and everyone went home with a sewing kit and a new Ikea coffee table book. The book is full of images from homes in Sweden that feature Ikea products along with the home owners own pieces, and will be available for purchase next year in stores. The event was a blast and I was so happy to meet so many wonderful people.
